Description
Closest to the main altar - in front of the three windows closing the presbytery with Gothic stained glass - is a stained glass window depicting the Queen of Poland - Our Lady of Czestochowa by Tadeusz Dmochowski. This stained glass window was made in Geyling's workshop in Vienna and was funded by Count Antoni Potocki. The Virgin Mary is depicted surrounded by an elaborate heraldic composition serving as a reminder of the splendour of the Republic. It is composed of the coat of arms of Poland and the land and municipal coats of arms, as well as those of the Gniezno and Cracow Chapters and the founders' family coats of arms. At the very top are images of the saints: Celestine, Anne and Anthony.
