- Description
- The councillors' stalls were made around 1516-1521 and belong to the early Renaissance furniture type with a logical, clear architectural structure with sparse panel divisions without ornamental decoration. The superbly carved capitals of the back pilasters are a specific interpretation of the classical Corinthian order (small decorative motifs, such as a pinecone or circular shield, were incorporated). In the third quarter of the 17th century, a set of shields with the White Eagle (in the middle), the Pahonia (on the right) and the city coat of arms (on the left) were placed on the canopy of the council stalls, which was a manifestation of the very important tradition of displaying the coats of arms of the king, the state and the city in the space of the parish church.
