Resurrection at the Tomb of Elisha
Description
Another interesting representation is the painting Resurrection at the Tomb of Elisha, created in the first half of the 17th century, earlier called Resurrection of Peter. The painting shows the scene of the resurrection of the dead after touching the bones in Elisha's tomb. The earlier interpretation referred to a legendary episode in the life of St. Stanislaus Szczepanowski, Bishop of Krakow, who, in the presence of Boleslaus the Bold and his two nephews, Jakub and Sulislaw, raised the dead Piotr.
