Reliquary from 1731
Description
The third reliquary which deserves a closer look comes from 1731. It was made by Gdańsk goldsmith Jan Jöde. It is in the form of a cross with wide arms with trifoliate endings. In the centre, there is a glazed box for relics and four smaller boxes on the arms of the cross. From the intersection of the arms, there are flat, silver-plated rays. On the back of the cross, the figure of the Crucified Christ and the Evangelists are engraved. On the oval foot of the reliquary, there is a figural decoration. It depicts the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary together with St. Dominic, St. Hyacinth and the monogram IHS as well as St. Cajetan and St. Nicholas.
