- The portrait was originally accompanied by the inscription: 'Maximus Abbatum conscribit gesta priorum, / Jura domus, census, rusque pecusque colit. / Concilii Orator Pisas, nec Synodorum / Bresla, sed mala fert a Duce, civi domo". The greatest of the abbots. He wrote down the deeds of his predecessors. Concerned himself with the law and the monastery. Speaker at many a Breslau synod and church convention in Pisa. He was disliked by the duke and the townspeople.
