- Description
- Carved in wood, the supernaturally large figure of Jesus stretched out on the cross was founded before 1512 by George Turzon. Its author's name is unknown, but the stylistic features of this outstanding work allow us to associate it with a woodcarver trained in the workshop of Wit Stwosz. He superbly rendered the anatomical details of the Crucified Christ's body. The figure is shown in a masterly abbreviated perspective.
