Description
The saint stands in slight contrapposto (on his left leg), facing the viewer. Behind him is a cross of equal size. He embraces one of its round beams with his right hand, supporting it with his palm. He has the face of a mature man; moustachioed with a long beard split at the end; large eyes under mildly tucked eyebrows, a prominent, straight nose and slightly parted lips. His long hair is sleekly combed back over a high forehead and falls wavy over his shoulders.

He is dressed in a barefoot-length robe with long sleeves with rolled-up cuffs, which is marred by a sash tied at the waist with a bow in front. A top drape is thrown over the slightly raised left shoulder. It encircles the torso, with the top rolled at hip level, where the hanging half is held up by the saree with the left hand.

The statue of the saint was originally placed on the spot now occupied by St Simon.
