- Description
- Christian Conrad the Younger made illusionist windows in the main and side aisles under the arches of the vaults between 1732 and 1733, from behind which clouds or fragments of architecture are visible. He painted ten in the nave and three window openings in the north side aisle, varying in shape and size. Näberle made the stuccoed surrounds including sills supported by slender consoles bearing putti or vases. Some 'false' windows were given a stucco setting with a pointed arch to refer to the original Gothic elements.
