- Description
- A triptych depicting a legend of St Stanislaus, was made at the beginning of the 16th century, most probably by Stanislaus Stwosz - son of the master Wit Stwosz. Pieced together in 1900 from loose bas-reliefs with the addition of a new neo-Gothic cabinet, it contains the scene of the Assassination of Saint Stanislaus in the central part, and on the wings: The purchase of the village from Piotrowin; The Resurrection of Piotrowin; The Testimony before King Boleslaw the Bold; The guarding of the corpse of Saint Stanislaus by eagles; and in then predella the Burial of Saint Stanislaus.
