- Description
- A fundamental change in the interior design of the nave body of St Mary's Church was brought about by the erection of a set of altars by the inter-nave pillars from the foundation of archpriest Jacek Łopacki in the first half of the 18th century. The altars were carved from black Dębnik marble according to a repeated compositional scheme. The generous founder brought a unique set of easel paintings for them, painted by one of the most eminent and respected Venetian painters - Giovanni Battista Pittoni. The altar of St Sebastian contains a painting depicting his martyrdom.
