The Holy Family is resting during the flight into Egypt. Mary sits under a tree, feeding the Child. Next to Him, St. Joseph is resting and calming a roaring donkey. However, the guardian of the Holy Family is distressed because he recalls the reason for the flight from Bethlehem. Willmann depicted the bloody slaughter in the upper left corner of the fresco - in the background Herod's soldiers are murdering innocent babies, and further back, there is the Bolków Castle.
