Description

The portrait probably originally formed part of the epitaph of Elisabeth, who was born in Stargard but came from a prominent family of Scottish nobility (she was the granddaughter of Alexander Hepburn, brother of Queen Mary Stuart's husband). Elizabeth was the second wife of Petrus von Vanselow, the Prebendary of Stone Cathedral. The portrait was painted by an unknown Pomeranian painter around the middle of the 17th century.
