- The portrait was originally accompanied by the inscription: 'Bis hic legatus statuum solerter agebat / Ardua pertractans non sine laude Ducum. / Sit licet infirmus tamen Abbas esse rogatur / Ob spem conceptam, ast hectica fallit eam". He had previously been a member of the state assembly. He won the recognition and favour of the prince. Despite poor health, he became abbot. However, the illness proved fatal. He died after three months.
