- Description
- The portrait was originally accompanied by the inscription: 'Sede vacante Prior regimen sex supplet annos, / Donec ter fausto numine Praesul erat. / Hoc itidem munus sex annis condecoravit / Cgristophorus suavis, doctus, abunde pius". Six full years he was forced to manage the monastery as prior (under Prince Philip Jack Lobkowicz) until a lucky star elevated him to abbot. He remained so for a further six years. Pleasant to deal with, wise and pious beyond all measure.
