- Description
- The portrait was originally accompanied by the inscription: 'Per lustrum munus bene Praesulis ut Prior implet, / Eligere Abbatem dum prohibet rabies. / Incipiunt divina iterum sevatque Sagani / Fratres Naumburgum pellere quos satagunt". As Prior, he managed the monastery skilfully (for five years). His election as abbot thwarted hostile plans. He did not abandon Zagan although many wanted the brothers to move to Novgorod.
