- Description
- The late Baroque altar (1725) at the rainbow arch, made of black marble, with columns with cannelled shafts, is surmounted by an interrupted beam with an oval medallion in the middle. Its maker is Kacper Bażanka. The altarpiece contains the painting "Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary", a work by the Venetian Giambattista Pittoni. The founder of the painting was the Archpriest of St Mary's, Fr Jacek Łopacki. Below is a smaller painting, 'Our Lady of Perpetual Help'. The altar is surrounded by a balustrade with bronze balusters: in the gate the coat of arms of Poland.
