- Description
- The late Baroque altarpiece from 1753, probably designed by Francesco Placidi, features a gilded cartouche with an inscription and, in the finial, a medallion of silver sheet metal with a Marian monogram in an oval gilded frame. In the centre of the altarpiece is an image of the Virgin and Child. The Gothic image of the Madonna and Child in the type of the so-called Hodegetria from the 1st half of the 15th century has been a special object of veneration for centuries. The cloister was founded by the councillor Jan Gaudent Zacherla and the sacristan Adam Szymanowicz in 1684.
