Description

In the composition of an architectural arcade, we can see a scene in the courtyard of a stone building. In the centre, Christ is sitting facing us, he is stripped of his garments, he is wearing a purple robe, holding a reed in his hand and thorns being put on his head by Roman soldiers. Around him a group of scoffing people. At the bottom, we can see an inscription which reads: „Der für uns Dornen ist geKrönet worden” (The one, who was crowned with thorns for us) and a signature: „Jos. Mahchausen. Glasmalerei Coblenz 1888.
