- Description
- The saint stands upright, his head turning slightly to the left. In his right hand, bent at the elbow and raised, he holds a large key, while with his left he presses a book clasped to his stomach, his hand embracing its top cover.
He has the face of a mature man with wide-set eyes under gentle arches of eyebrows; a short beard and moustache, curly hair exposing his ears, fringe over a high forehead with curves.
He is dressed in a barefoot robe with a collar and long sleeves with rolled-up cuffs. Thrown over his left shoulder is a toga wrapping the left side of his torso in cascades of folds, the hem of which is flung over his left hand.
