- Description
- A servant is a vertical element of small cross-section attached to a wall or pillar, which was used in church and secular construction from the 11th to 15th century. They were used both as a structural and decorative element. The vertical servant joins the ribs of the vault, creating a kind of "bridge" between the wall and the vault.
