- Description
- The saint stands upright, facing the viewer. In his left hand, bent at the elbow and raised, he holds a charcoal. He has the face of a mature man with a prominent nose, large eyes under arched eyebrows rising to the temples, a long chin and slightly wavy shoulder-length hair laid flat over a high forehead.
He is dressed in a robe reaching down to his bare feet, buttoned at the front, with a collar and long sleeves with rolled-up cuffs. His right arm is covered by a toga, which he presses against his abdomen with his right hand and wraps around his torso below the waist.
The statue of the saint was originally placed on the spot now occupied by St Jude Thaddeus.
