Years of turmoil and hope – 2nd half of the 20th and 21st centuries
Description
View of the church from the southwest, 1964, National Digital Archive, File No. 3/53/0/7/451/22. In 1947 the church was consecrated as a Catholic temple, but the following year the authorities banned masses; a warehouse for building materials was placed in the building. In 1957, reconstruction of the side aisle vault was undertaken, and in December of that year, the church was consecrated and restored to Catholic worship. The next decades of the twentieth century were a period of repair and restoration work, ranging from the restoration and repair of the vaults to the conservation of polychrome and stained glass windows.
