The Grief of St. Peter
Description
The painting (probably by Jan Franciszek Smuglewicz) depicts St. Peter crying after he heard the last cockcrow. The Apostle has bare feet, next to him there are keys and an open book. Initially, the painting was located in the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament from where it was moved to the Diocesan Museum at the beginning of the 20th century during the reconstruction of the cathedral. Copies are located in Pułtusk Basilica and in the churches in Radzanów and Siemiątków.
