Description

The current layout of the plates presents various scenes from the Old and New Testament, historical figures, numerous allegorical impersonations and animations which are not logically related to each other. It is visible that those who assembled the plates did not know the key to how to match them to each other. The restoration of the original iconographic layout became the subject of many years of study of priest professor Ryszard Knapiński from the Catholic University of Lublin. The study found that the plates do not present the life of Jesus but the twelve dogmas of the Christian faith, described variously as, for example, The Apostle’s Creed, Symobolum Apostolorum, Credo Apostolorum.
